Lift Ev’ry Voice and The Mount in Lenox are inviting Berkshire County performers to respond to sculptures this summer! SculptureNow is an exhibition of 30 sculptures spread along the trails and pathways of the beautiful grounds at The Mount. We are looking for performers across all disciplines to develop responses and help animate the space.
Walkin’ with Lift Ev’ry Voice
Sunday August 20, 3pm
2 Plunkett Street, Lenox, MA
Responses are intended to be short site specific works between 2-5 minutes maximum in length and repeatable during the afternoon. The public will witness your work while on a guided walk. All sculptures are outside and featured in wonderful settings that also invite response. We encourage musicians, dancers, poets, storytellers and comics to share work with the community!
We encourage you to visit The Mount and explore the exhibition and to that end, The Mount will host a free intro to sculpture session on Sunday July 16 from 1:30-3:30pm. Or if you prefer, the grounds are also open daily after 5pm for free.
The deadline to sign up is August 5.
Things to keep in mind:
- Your work will need to be self contained – ie there will be no sound system, stage, electricity or wi-fi
- Your work should be weather resistant – this is an all weather event (with the exception of heavy rain or lighting)
- Your work should be 2-5 minutes in length and able to be repeated multiple times as groups cycle through the walk
