Olga Dunn Dance Company Tribute to Elaine Gunn

The Olga Dunn Dance Company presents a performance and tribute to Elaine Gunn. Elaine’s legacy is focused on the history of W.E.B. Du Bois and the Underground Railroad as well as the importance of education in general. The performance will include four gospel music and dance pieces and close with a finale to the “Lift Ev’ry Voice” song that was dear to Elaine Gunn. The evening will also include a gathering with food and drink in tribute to Elaine. The performance will take place in the intimate setting of the Olga Dunn Dance Studio inside of the historic railroad station with pre performance activities under an adjacent tent.

Beaded Hope: A color-coded bead (assemblage) project in response to Nick Cave’s UNTIL
Mass MoCA, 1040 Mass MoCA Way, North Adams, MA
Participants will design a “piece” (anklet, bracelet, necklace) and be asked to wear the piece(s) during their time in the UNTIL exhibition and while in other galleries to help identify other patrons with beaded pieces. Using provided prompts, participants will be encouraged to engage in moments of self-reflection and conversations promoting social justice, community and creativity.
